Now that we see this reconstruction of a masterpiece itself has become a great masterpiece and has been able to fully preserve the value and originality of the original game. It was really hard work, but we already knew that BluePoint could do that, and fortunately this developer still did not disappoint us. Demon’s Souls Remake is a masterpiece that should be one of your first games in the ninth generation and one of the main reasons to buy PlayStation 5 for Souls friends.
Helldivers 2 and Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut proved successful, but Returnal, LEGO Horizon Adventures, and Concord were disappointing. Even Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 debuted to less than 19K players on Steam, though it’s since reached 27,775 concurrent. It removed the mandatory PSN requirement for many titles, at least. However, to have a thrilling gameplay experience, you need to… That depends on who you ask, but there were times when I was begging for Bluepoint to take the wheel and make this game its own.
Bolster Your Character’s Fire Defense
All of this is taken to new heights of immersion through the DualSense controller. The haptic feedback adaptive triggers pair with the 3D audio in superb fashion. It’s one thing to watch as your character strikes down the undead and impales a skeleton, it’s another to completely hear and feel the difference. Every sword strike and spell blast feel instantly recognizable, while even the creaking of a chain-operated elevator or the pattering of rain add to the overall immersion. It really has to be felt to be understood but the DualSense finalizes this game as having the best gameplay of any “Souls” title. Demon’s Souls Remake feels positively slow compared to other games from developer FromSoftware — and it’s still a very challenging game.
The Short Sword is by far the shortest sword in the game and will require some close combat to get some hits in. It also deals the least amount of damage compared to the upcoming weapons on the list. It can, however, be used by any build that a player decides to go for and can be made to scale off almost any stat except for luck. As an added bonus, players can use this weapon to create the Morion Blade.
This remake was developed by Bluepoint, the folks behind the Shadow of the Colossus remake, from FromSoftware’s original blueprint. The long short of it is that this is one of the best gaming experiences out there and should be experienced by anybody who wants to experience it. By no means is Demon’s Souls easy—it’s still hard as hell, like all Souls games are hard as hell. A lot is said about Demon’s Souls’ challenge, and the game is certainly difficult. The Demon’s Souls remake doesn’t add an easy mode or anything like that to make it more accessible to newcomers. It also doesn’t bother to really explain most of its basic gameplay mechanics, leaving it up for players to figure everything out on their own.
The Dragon Bone Smasher can be found just after entering the Demon’s Souls Dragon God boss arena, but it requires pure white World Tendency to find. This weapon also gives you slightly more protection against fire damage, making it almost like another piece of armor. This will help you make it through certain levels with a lot of enemies that use fire, such as the Flamelurker boss encountered in the game.
The Chest is located in World 1 – 2, behind where you located Ostrava. The Legs are in 1 – 4, behind the area where the Blue Dragon is. These bosses may be the scariest that FromSoftware has ever designed. Dark Souls 3 is similar to its predecessors in that it’s challenging action RPG with a vague story. This is all to say that even though FromSoftware’s contribution to Demon’s Souls is well appreciated, it, alongside Bloodborne, where always Sony projects.

The one thing that immediately strikes you about Demon’s Souls is its thick atmosphere of doom and melancholy. Like most From games, the antagonists have already triumphed long before you appeared and it’s left uncertain to what degree you can remedy the situation. So rather than rushing to meet every enemy the game’s oppressive ambience encourages you to move more cautiously, to always have your shield ready and to expect enemies to appear at any moment, without warning. FromSoftware has had nothing directly to do with this remake, with development instead being handled by American team Bluepoint Games, who worked on the excellent Shadow Of The Colossus remake.
Additionally, the Media Markt retailer is quite a credible source, as it’s one of the best-known retailers in the region. Kilij is one of the more difficult weapons to obtain early on, but entirely possible. To get it, players will need to travel to the Shrine of Storms and defeat the Gold Skeleton near the Vanguard Demon boss fight. TG88 can obtain one from the ground, but it requires defeating the Vanguard Demon first.
What We Said About The Original Demon’s Souls
The ability to hit in a straight line from mid-range can come in handy in a number of sinisterly designed areas throughout Demon’s Souls. Keen observance of each of the bosses’ attack patterns and behavior is the key to defeating them along with analyzing and exploiting their weaknesses. The Dull Gold Armor set is a medium type armor built for Body Type A. It offers high resistance to Bleed and Poison damage and it also has a very high Durability rating.
There Are Many Exciting Possibilities For A Demon’s Souls Sequel
On the other side of the door, there is also a Dregling, but it will remain hidden until you get much closer. On your left there is a locked door that will only open if you achieve Pure White or Pure Black World Tendency. Once unlocked, the door will remain like that even if World Tendency changes later. When you reach the execution grounds, you’ll encounter x3 Black Phantom Dreglings.
Players of the series know that the Uchigatana can be found early in all three of the Dark Souls games and is a viable weapon for the entire game. On the bridge in 1-2’s The Lord’s Path, players will be trying to avoid the literal bomb dropping of an angry Red Dragon. Those quick enough with looting can get their hands on a satisfying distance weapon known as the Winged Spear.
